We are well into the new year and it’s going to be a big one for me. This is the year that I turn the big 40, and I have several goals, both large and small that I hope to accomplish this year. New years mean fresh starts, and that means making time to do the things that I have been putting off for years now. One of the very first things I decided to do was to enjoy a wonderful made from scratch meal at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen. This was a wonderful treat for both myself and my family. We got to relax and enjoy delicious food and I didn’t have to do any of the cooking or cleaning up afterwards.
One of the first things we noticed as we walked into our local Cheddar’s was the relaxing atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. This fabulous fish tank was near the entrance.
The entire restaurant was spotless (including the bathrooms) and we loved the low lighting and peaceful decor throughout.
At this time I must mention how wonderful the service was. From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left, we were treated like royalty. Everyone went out of their way to ensure that we had a perfect dining experience.
We started the meal with an appetizer and drinks.
These were, quite possibly, the most delicious loaded nachos that we have ever eaten, and our Blue Moon beers were served in frosty glasses with a slice of orange.
Next up came our entrees. We chose the ribeye steak and the baby back ribs. My steak arrived with a bourbon glaze exactly as I had ordered it and was amazingly delicious and juicy. As side items, I ordered the baked potato and cole slaw. These didn’t disappoint either. The baked potato arrived with all of my favorite toppings and the cole slaw was fresh and crunchy.
We also order the baby back ribs with red beans and rice and french fries as side dishes. We were told that the ribs are slow cooked for four hours…yes four and that the ribs have one special person whose job is to solely cook the ribs. This process pays off nicely because we honestly have never, ever eaten such tender, fall-off-the-bone ribs. These ribs topped any other restaurant that is supposedly “famous” for ribs. The red beans and rice had just the right amount of spice and the french fries weren’t just ordinary fries. They were fantastic but since every thing else tasted wonderful so far, we knew these would be just as great.
Even though we were stuffed, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share a delicious dessert. So we chose the Cookie Monster, and it was the perfect end to a wonderful meal. I think this photo speaks for itself.
As you can see, choosing to enjoy a meal at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen was the best way to spend time together as a family and enjoy the made from scratch goodness that Cheddar’s is known for. Everyone was friendly and really made us feel welcome. We have already decided that we will be visiting Cheddar’s again for my 40th birthday celebration in just a few short months. I am already looking forward to it!
