Pop Bottle Science!

simplyreviewpost

My little scientist received a really neat gift for her 12th birthday from her grandma! It’s called Pop Bottle Science, and it’s a kit that contains supplies to do 79 different experiments at home. We have all had a lot of fun with it so far!

The kit comes with a 120 page book packed with lots of fun experiments that are easy for kids to be able to do with a small amount of supervision.

Also included are various other supplies like measuring spoons, balloons, a measuring cup and more.

Lauren tried out two of the experiments so far and loved it. This is a photo of the Good Vibes experiment where she learned how sounds make vibrations through the air, by making grains of rice “dance” on top of the tightly wrapped (plastic wrap and a rubber band) pop bottle. At first we weren’t able to make the rice dance, until we discovered that the plastic wrap wasn’t quite as tight as we needed it to be.  It worked great after that!

Each experiment also has a section that explains what is happening and why! There is so much that I never knew in this book!

I think we will be using this kit quite a bit in our homeschool science studies! If you are interested in this kit, you can find it at Barnes & Noble.

If you have this kit or something similar, what do you like best about it?
